SUNFLOWER LAPGHAN

fb-cropped2

This design was inspired by my sister-in-law, Emma, who had sunflowers as the theme for their wedding. I used the idea of ‘on-point’ quilts and granny squares to figure the layout and I am delighted with the result.
The sunflower motifs are worked separately (making them a great carry-along project) before joining together and working the borders.

Finished size: About 40 inches square.

COUNRTY OWLS WRIST WARMERS

Fingerless Gloves, Texting Mitts, Wrist Warmers… Whatever you call them, these items are great. When the weather is chilly, keep your hands warm while driving, reading or even texting (but not at the same time!).

There are many patterns available for Owl Mittens, however, the stitch pattern used on these makes them really comfortable to wear. They work up quickly using Medium Weight yarn (and you might get two pairs from one 3½ oz skein). You’ll need 4 buttons or beads for eyes.

One size fits most Adults.

CAN COZY

Worked all in one piece, with only two ends to sew in, this mitt makes a great gift. The inner sleeve fits snugly around a can or bottle and the outer glove is textured. The ribbing fits most adult wrist sizes.  Ideally, it should be made using Medium Weight cotton yarn to prevent stretching.
